Liz McQueen - Above the White Esk
Originally from Wales, Liz McQueen is a painter based in Eskdalemuir, Dumfries & Galloway. Focusing on capturing the natural environment and landscape surrounding her new homeland, her work is both sensitive and painterly, with thoughtful compositions and expressive mark-making. Her first solo exhibition 'Above The White Esk' at The Look Out features a thoughtful collection of painted landscape pieces on a variety of surfaces that depict the woodlands and moorlands surrounding her home in Eskdalemuir.
Liz delivered a workshop inspired by her collection of miniature acrylic landscape paintings on cardboard; instructing on several aspects of the creative process including research, sketching thumbnails, composition, use of colour and painting techniques.
