WEEKLY CHALLENGE!!
Identify and observe a dozen (or half a dozen) different textures either from within your home or while out on a nature walk. How would you describe each texture? How does it make you feel? Aim to replicate or reproduce each texture in your own way by considering your choice of materials and mark-making tools or techniques.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE!! Take a walk outside and actively look for patterns or potential ‘motifs’ in the environment that inspire you- use this as a basis to decorate a page or two of your sketchbook (all the way to the edges) with a repeat surface pattern.

Week 1 - Introduction & Weekly Challenge: Create lots of landscape thumbnails, trying different views/compositions then work your favourites up into larger sketches, experimenting with placement of key areas of interest. When you have something you're happy with, add colour with watercolour and/or acrylic paint. Have fun!
