OutPost Arts
Making Space is a programme of weekly daytime workshops, supported by volunteers and led by a health & well-being specialist. The sessions focus on the personal benefits of taking part in hands-on creative practises, encouraging participants to engage with textile crafts in new ways and build upon existing skills in a manageable and supported manner.
To deliver the Making Space project, we are working in partnership with local initiative 'Textiles Eskdale - Weaving a Future for Langholm' which aims to revitalise and regenerate local textile small industries. All sessions are delivered at OutPost Art's creative hub, The Look Out, offering a safe and welcoming space for the group to get the most out of the workshops.
With funding from Holywood Trust, The Robertson Trust, The David Stevenson Trust and Muirhall Energy, the Making Space project will expand to include evening sessions later in 2020, engaging a wider demographic who are unable to attend during working hours.
