We’re delighted to introduce Amy Marletta, who has joined the OutPost Arts team as Project Coordinator for Creating Spaces NW Dumfries.
Creating Spaces is an 18-month community-led arts and wellbeing project, bringing together the communities of Lochside, Lincluden, Summerhill and surrounding areas to co-design four new public artworks. The artworks will form an Art & Wellbeing Trail, creating opportunities for creativity, connection and wellbeing across the Northwest Dumfries area.
Amy will be working alongside the OutPost Arts team, LIFT D&G, The Stove’s What We Do Now network, artists and, most importantly,  the communities involved in the project.
We asked Amy to tell us a little bit about herself and her experience in the arts:

Amy has worked in the visual arts in various capacities since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2002. This includes working as an artist, undertaking participatory community projects, residencies and exhibitions and in various facilitator/management roles which have included youth work, delivering art workshops and organising creative events and exhibitions.
For the past ten years Amy worked for Upland Arts Development, leading on the youth and professional development programme before moving into the Creative Director role, helping to sustain and shape the organisation. Amy has played a key role in developing and delivering a wide range of creative projects across Dumfries & Galloway with a broad range of participants, communities and partners in various settings including schools, local venues, galleries and outdoor locations.
When not working Amy is often in her studio at the Crichton where she continues to develop her own artistic practice and walk her dog, Hudson - who keeps her busy everyday!
Amy is looking forward to a new challenge and is excited to work with the OutPost Arts team and partners on the Creating Spaces project.
“I’m really looking forward to getting out and about to meet people in the communities involved and seeing what we can all achieve together!”
Welcome to the team, Amy!
